Studio antique Cole family North Carolina pottery for sale. Now is your chance to acquire rare large Rebecca at the Well pottery jugs today. These were made in the 1930’s by the famous Cole family of Sea Grove, N.C. The Cole’s have been potters for 200 years. These Rebecca jugs are made with rare white clay from the Whitefield (alluvium) deposits. This resource was coveted with limited supply. The clay now has a more reddish orange color this is why its so rare to own. The rainbow glaze was hand applied using local mineral mixtures from Sea Grove. You can see the hand that threw the clay and feel the ridges in the body. You can see the artists hand with molding the handle as well. One of a kind and so unique. The pair 12″ and 12 1/2″h both are 5″d. The Blue and with white is 12″h x 5″d These can be purchased and picked up at the store.
