Where to buy furnishing for your new home

Brimfield market is one of my favorite place to go.  The town of Brimfield, MA along route 20 about an hour north of Hartford, CT comes alive for a week in May, August and September.  Open from September 6 through the 11th.  The markets and different fields open up and hordes of shoppers add a carnival atmosphere.  You can find everything and anything here.  I can’t get over how much stuff that’s available.

If your a new home buyer and hard up for cash and need to buy furnishings, go to Brimfield.   You can buy antique or vintage dining tables, chairs, dressers, end tables and bed frames for less than department stores.  I believe antiques furniture is better made then what you would find at big box stores or hi end specialty stores.  Brimfield is a haven for Green conscious consumers.  If you don’t like the finish on a piece paint it or re-stain with a water based products.  If you already have furniture buy antique or vintage items as accents.  Nothing worse going into a house and its all matchy match and beige.  Spice the home up with mirrors, rugs, art, lamps, vases…etc.

Brimfield has about 3000 dealers you will find some great pieces for your home.   I like going here because you will find anything and everything you need.  I have been selling furniture most of my career and I recommend Brimfield as a great resource for dealers, collectors and new home buyers that need to stretch their money.  I have a blog post on tips for Brimfield coming up.
